New Year's Eve Statement Necklace

I miss being a fashion designer.  It was everything I ever wanted since I was 13 years old, and my time in NYC making clothes was magical.  One of the best parts of putting together my runway shows was creating the jewelry pieces.  For my shows, it was the bigger the better!  This piece is an homage to that time in my life.  It's big, bold and perfect for a party!  Can you believe that hot glue was used to make the roese? It's such a great way to make jewelry components and it's much quicker than you think.  I may just wear this piece around the house with my bathrobe.  Wear what you want, my fabulous friends, and always Make Your Mark!

Art Deco Necklace DIY

Head to the hardware store (or dig around in your toolbox) to make these fashion forward, art deco inspired necklaces.  I used cabochons, but you could use gems or even semi-precious stones.  Put it all together with 

E-6000 and you'll be right on trend!

YOU'LL NEED

Drill

Chain

E-6000 Glue

Corner brackets

Cabochons

Jump rings and lobster claw closure

Wire cutters

Pliers 

Piece of scrap wood

Drill a small hole on the corner of the corner bracket

Cut 7 to 8 pieces of chain about 5" long

Attach the chains to a jump ring and then to the hole on the corner of the corner bracket

Add chain to the sides of the corner bracket to create your necklace

Experiment with your cabochons to create your design

Glue the cabochons with E-6000 and let dry for at least 2 hours

Done!

Saintly Statement Choker DIY!

Whether you're a saint or a sinner, this statement necklace is sure to keep you safe!  Grab some beautiful dollar store saint bracelets, a few supplies you already have and make something amazing to wear.  Put it all together with E-6000 glue and you'll have a one way ticket to style heaven.

YOU'LL NEED

Sewing machine

E-6000 Glue

Small pieces of denim or heavy fabric

Pliers

Chain

Dollar store saint bracelets

Large flat beads

Small seed beads

Jump rings and lobster claw

 Cut to identical denim pieces in a crescent moon shape about 5" wide

Straight stitch them together with a contrasting thread

Cut your saint bracelets apart

 Figure out your design and glue the pieces on with E-6000

 Add more E-6000 around the saint medals and sprinkle seed beads

Allow everything to dry for 1 hour

Cut tiny holes on each end and add jump rings

Attach 3 chains in varying lengths to the jump rings

Attach more saint medals to the hanging chains

Attach chain and a closure to finish it off
