Glittery Nature Silhouettes

I live in Los Angeles where everything is growing and blooming all the time!  Every week it seems I'm chopping, trimming and clipping the trees and plants in my yard.  Not long ago I decided to see if I could flatten some of the larger pieces between pieces of wood...like pressing flowers in a book, but BIGGER.  That's when my mind started spinning with ideas and I began experimenting with this process.  At first I tried using spray paint, but the pressure blew the leaves everywhere!  I was so happy to find that DecoArt had the perfect product for me.  Check out the video below to see what I used.  Get out there and make some art, my sweet friends, and don't forget to

Faux Stained Glass DIY

I love stained glass but the real thing is just too expensive and quite frankly, I'm just not talented enough to learn how to make it.  Plus, I just don't have the patience.  It has been my lifelong goal, since the first time I ironed colorful tissue paper in between wax paper, to make versions of stained glass that didn't require mad skills!  Here is my latest piece using Unicorn SPiT and Elmer's Glue.  When it's coated with resin it looks just like the real thing.  There are always alternatives, my creative friends!  Now get out there and Make Your Mark!
I enlarged an adult coloring book for the pattern!

Step 1:  Jump in!
Step 2: Keep adding colors!
Step 3: Let it dry a bit between applications
Step 4: Make sure that colors aren't directly next to each other
Once you're done let it dry completely before you add the Glaze Coat resin

Can't wait to make more!

Pressed Flower Boxes DIY

Did you know that you can use a microwave to press flowers more quickly?  Well, you can and it's amazing!  Check out my video below to see just how it's done.  I used dollar store frames to create these floating pressed flower boxes and they worked perfectly. You'll need 2 square-ish type frames per project and you'll be trapping the flowers between both panes of glass.  It's so easy you'll be making these by the dozen!  It's always nice to have a little spring in the house to remind you that the gray and gloom will eventually be gone.  Sending you all much love!  Now get out there and
Make Your Mark!
With the right boxy frame they're free standing!
If you're worried about the color fading, try adding a little bit of bright food coloring to the petals and let it dry before framing

Cute Fabric Mushrooms

When I was a kid I would use anything I could find for my craft projects..twigs, old fabric, tons of Elmer's glue, rocks, hardware pieces from my dad's junk box, cardboard and buttons from my grandma's huge tin.  Seriously, WHATEVER I could find.  I loved making weird sculptures and magical dioramas, but mostly I loved spending quiet time in my room listening to the radio and being creative.  When I was making these mushrooms, my mind immediately raced back to that time.  It doesn't matter what you make, being creative is what it's all about!  Make whatever your heart desires, my sweet friends, and don't forget to Make Your Mark!

Halloween Treat Boxes

How many paper towel and TP tubes do you toss every week? We toss about 5 in our house!  That is a ton of fun craft projects just put into the garbage!  Why not save them and make these cute treat boxes for Halloween?  Change up the images and make them for Christmas or Valentine's Day!  Use what you have, my sweet friends, and don't forget to Make Your Mark!
Filled with treats, spells and fortunes!
So much more fun to open, too!

Vintage Art Blocks DIY

I love mystical art and you can find tons of vintage images on the internet to create these beautiful art pieces for your decor!  Just make sure to search for high resolution images so you get the best quality.  I've included the ones I used below so you can just print them out from here!  Try this technique with any holiday.  Just change up the colors and images and you've got something new.  My favorite part is the nailhead trim around the edges.  No need to frame!  Make a cluster of your favorite images, and don't forget to Make Your Mark!

Anything with a crystal ball is for me!
A fortune teller is always fun, too!
