Colorful Boho Plates DIY

Every week or so I come across a stack of clear glass dishes at a yard sale or thrift store for just a few dollars.  Catering companies in LA often get rid of these things after big events so I always grab them for my DIY projects.  With a little help from my Gel Press and some colorful Americana paints, you can easily create a boho dinner table that will spice up your summer dining in no time.  The best part is that you can do it for a song.  Decoupage plates are so easy to make and you can use everything from your own printed papers (like I did) to beautiful napkins or wrapping paper.  Just make sure to mist your papers with water before you apply to keep them from wrinkling.  Add tons of color to your home for a happy vibe and don't forget to Make Your Mark!

Victorian Flower Press DIY

Everything 70s is back!  We have macrame, ferns, wicker, high waisted mom jeans and now we have pressed flowers.  Pressing flowers was serious business during the Victorian era and it had a lovely resurgence in the 1970s.  That said, in the 70s most people used an old phone book to press flowers but in the Victorian era there were beautiful wood contraptions that looked lovely sitting on a coffee table.  I decided to make something in between a hand carved flower press and a phone book for this project.  Something that could be left out on a coffee table to wow your friends!  In the coming months I'm going to be using my pressed flowers for all kinds of different projects, so stay tuned.  Start pressing your flowers now so you can join in and

Hanging Sea Glass Lanterns DIY

I've been on a DIY sea glass bender lately and can't seem to stop making it.  I have so much now, I might have to open a store.  Since spring and summer are upon us, I wanted something a little more colorful for my outdoor lighting so I created these hanging lanterns with dollar store glass vases and twine.  The trick to keeping the sea glass in place while it dries is tape....Lots and lots of cheap, clear tape!  Make sure to check out how I made these in the video below because I also share how to easily drill sea glass to make the beaded tassels hanging from the bottom!  Get creative my sweet friends and don't forget to Make Your Mark!
Can't wait to fill these with tea lights
The sea glass tassels are my favorite part!

No Sew Boho Clutch DIY

It's almost summer and you're going to need a few little handbags to jazz up your favorite outfits! These little boho gems are PERFECT and you can make them in any color combo you want.  Grab some trim and a base fabric (I used vinyl but you could use heavy canvas) and get gluing! It's that easy.  A little velcro and you have a cute, safe place to keep your phone and some cash.  Add a strap and you're ready for a night out.  Kick up your style this summer my sweet friends and don't forget to

Painted Boho Ottoman DIY

Everyone I know has a version of this little brown ottoman covered in faux leather.  Pretty sure the fact that you can buy them for $20 bucks is the reason we all seem to have one or two hanging around.  Though they are the perfect place to kick up your feet at the end of a rough day, sadly they aren't terribly attractive.  Here's a fun way to jazz up that little brown clump and make it an enviable centerpiece in your living room using DecoArt's Stylin Paints which are formulated for leather, faux leather and fabric. It won't crack or peel and can work on everything from shoes and handbags to belts and, well, this ottoman!  Dial up your decor with this fun little project and don't forget to

Scrap Fabric Easter Eggs

It's that time of year when I decorate eggs like a crazy person and then wonder why I don't have an Easter egg themed tree to display them all!  I love a plastic egg project and these were such a blast to make.  Plus, I got to use some of my favorite fabric scraps and the plastic eggs I seem to buy in bundles every year.  These Fabric-ge eggs (see what I did there?) are a perfect way to decorate for your chic Easter gathering.  Happy, Hoppy Easter my friends.  Now get out there and

Pour Painted Rock Rings

I've been obsessed with polished rocks my entire life.  On every vacation my dad would let me grab a few at the local trading post for my collection and to this day I still buy them when I'm in a fun mountain town like Big Bear here in Cali.  If you're too impatient to make your own in a rock tumbler or you're too far from a trading post, you can always pour paint your own and then coat them with resin.  The effects are amazing and they make beautiful jewelry, too.  Rock out & rock on, my crafty friends, and don't forget to Make Your Mark!

Mermaid Sea Glass Mirror

I've been making my own sea glass for a while and have quite a stash saved up. I wanted to tackle a huge project using the wine and sparkling water bottle glass since that's what I have the most of right now.  Yes, I'm a wino and I love sparkling water, too.  Isn't it amazing what you can do with recycled materials?  I absolutely love this mermaid mirror and can't wait to put it up in my house.  If we all work together we can save this planet one beautiful craft project at a time, don't you think?
