Carnival Lanterns DIY

I love the ornate masks people wear during Carnival in Venice!  Gorgeous colors, harlequin patterns and embellished in every way possible.  These hanging lanterns are inspired by those very masks.  Why you ask?  I have no idea!  I just thought they would be pretty hanging in my trees.  By the way, they do look pretty magical hanging in my trees!  I used Nescafe coffee jars, but you could round jars if you wanted.  Heck, toss on some gems for fun just to jazz them up for daytime.  No rules when you're upcycling and being creative.  Have fun, use color and don't forget to

Patchwork Boho Lampshades

Have a lampshade in need of some spicing up?  This patchwork shade just might be the ticket!  Using only fabric glue, some matching trim and scrap fabrics, you can completely revamp a dusty old lampshade in need of some love.  I used a monochromatic color scheme, but you could totally go nuts with every color in the rainbow!  The best part is that you can do this in just a few hours and totally change the look of your space.  Use what you have my friends and always Make Your Mark!

No Sew Boho Curtains DIY

I enjoy curtains outside on my patio because they add a feeling of softness and comfort.  It's an easy way to make your patio feel like a real outdoor room.  The best part about this project is that it's no-sew and can be done for indoor curtains, too.  So, if you're horrified at the thought of learning how to sew and but you still want to make your own curtains, this is the way to go!  Fabri-Fuse is washable and dry cleanable and won't rip.  I've tried, it really doesn't rip apart!  Find other ways to make your DIYs happen, my friends, and always MAKE YOUR MARK!

Sparkly Mosaic Cactus DIY

Grab all of that craft STUFF you've been hoarding and glue it on a Walnut Hollow wood cactus!  Yup, that's how easy it is.  I used green and blue beads, gems and buttons for this project, but it's really about the shape of your base and using what you have.  Pour some resin over the top and you have something sparkly to add some charm to your patio.  Put a stake on it and plop it in the garden!  Why not?!  It's all about mash-up mosaics, my friends.  Oh, and don't forget to Make Your Mark!

Faux Rice Paper Lanterns DIY

I drink instant coffee but always have coffee filters in my kitchen just in case I get inspired to make something with them.  We all have them, so why not try to use them in a craft project, right?!  I very happily found out that soaked with Americana Decoupage, the coffee filters look just like rice paper!  I had a few feet of 1/2" screen leftover from a home project and this project just popped into my head.  The hardware store is an amazing place for supplies, my friends!  Use what you have leftover and don't forget to Make Your Mark!

Painted Canvas Clutch DIY

Printing on fabric with my Gel Press is serious fun! So far I've made lampshades, pillows and table napkins, but it was time to try a fashion accessory.  Something that could double as an art supply carry-all.  As usual, I went crazy with every color in my arsenal.  The Retro Leaves Impressables Gel Press is quickly becoming one of my favorite motifs and it's 12" x 12" so you can cover a lot of space in no time.  With minimal stitching and only 1 hand-sewn button for a closure, this project will take you no time at all.  Make yourself something special for the summer and don't forget to

Beaded Rope Jewelry DIY

When I was a kid I did Peyote beadwork with seed beads on little wooden dowels and then turned them into keychains for my dad.  Props to my dad for always pretending like each new keychain was his favorite!  When I started wearing glasses I gave up using seed beads because it was just too difficult.  Recently I ran into a magnifying lamp called the Lightview Pro XL and it changed my life.  I challenged myself to learn a different way to bead around rope and this is what I found.  It's a blast and takes so much less time than traditional Peyote beadwork.  Check out the video to see how I made these jewelry pieces and don't forget to Make Your Mark!
