Resin Butterfly Trays

Not sure how I ended up with 20 of these pressed tin trays from Dollar Tree, but I did.  Pretty sure instinctively I knew that one day inspiration would strike and they would be on hand for a project.  At least that's what my inner hoarder whispers every time I'm at the register or filling my cart late at night online.  While cleaning out my desk I found some beautiful butterfly printouts and it finally came to me...Butterfly trays!  A little paint and some resin in the base to protect them and they look like a million bucks.  Well, not a million, but definitely more than the 99c I paid for them.  Everything can be transformed and made more beautiful, my sweet friends!  Think of the caterpillar and the butterfly while you Make Your Mark!

Victorian Goth Table Makeover

There is an apartment complex a few blocks away from where I live and every week someone is moving in or out.  Luckily for me it's an endless source of furniture for my makeover projects!  This table was pretty boring when I found it and with just a little paint and some vintage printouts, I was able to turn it into something marvelous!  It doesn't take much to turn trash into treasure, my talented friends!  Now get out there and MAKE YOUR MARK!

Fancy Canister DIY - Upcycled Jar Makeover

The rule in my house is give everything gets 2nd life!  Jars, cans, newspaper, cardboard & plastic containers never end up in the garbage UNLESS they truly can't be repurposed.  I have tons of these Nescafe instant coffee jars and they are my absolute favorite to makeover.  A little tissue paper for color and some images printed on your computer will give you an amazing set of mini canisters to show off in your space.   Currently these are on my kitchen counter waiting to be filled, but I have a feeling they'll end up in my craft house.  Rescue those craft supplies headed for the garbage bin and you'll never be bored, my sweet friends!  Oh, and always Make Your Mark!

Thrift Store Table Makeover

It's my classic move...I see the ugliest piece of furniture at the thrift store and I have to grab it.  Partly because I know no one else will and partly because I love the challenge.  This table was sooooo sad that I just couldn't let it sleep in that little thrift store one more night.  Also, this makeover proves that a little paint and some beautiful images can go a very long way in covering up some serious flaws like scratches and chipping!  Always look at the possibilities, my sweet friends, and always

Carnival Lanterns DIY

I love the ornate masks people wear during Carnival in Venice!  Gorgeous colors, harlequin patterns and embellished in every way possible.  These hanging lanterns are inspired by those very masks.  Why you ask?  I have no idea!  I just thought they would be pretty hanging in my trees.  By the way, they do look pretty magical hanging in my trees!  I used Nescafe coffee jars, but you could round jars if you wanted.  Heck, toss on some gems for fun just to jazz them up for daytime.  No rules when you're upcycling and being creative.  Have fun, use color and don't forget to

Victorian Flower Press DIY

Everything 70s is back!  We have macrame, ferns, wicker, high waisted mom jeans and now we have pressed flowers.  Pressing flowers was serious business during the Victorian era and it had a lovely resurgence in the 1970s.  That said, in the 70s most people used an old phone book to press flowers but in the Victorian era there were beautiful wood contraptions that looked lovely sitting on a coffee table.  I decided to make something in between a hand carved flower press and a phone book for this project.  Something that could be left out on a coffee table to wow your friends!  In the coming months I'm going to be using my pressed flowers for all kinds of different projects, so stay tuned.  Start pressing your flowers now so you can join in and

Scrap Fabric Easter Eggs

It's that time of year when I decorate eggs like a crazy person and then wonder why I don't have an Easter egg themed tree to display them all!  I love a plastic egg project and these were such a blast to make.  Plus, I got to use some of my favorite fabric scraps and the plastic eggs I seem to buy in bundles every year.  These Fabric-ge eggs (see what I did there?) are a perfect way to decorate for your chic Easter gathering.  Happy, Hoppy Easter my friends.  Now get out there and
