Mini Canister DIY - Upcycled Instant Coffee Jars

I drink coffee like it's a form of oxygen...I love the stuff.  I NEED the stuff!  I started loving the smell and taste when I was about 10 and my gram would make me a very light cup (mostly milk) with sugar.  I felt like such a grown up.  Honestly, I'm pretty sure it was Sanka.  These days I'm so strapped for time I drink Nescafe House Blend instant and I have no shame in that game.  It's delish.  Also, the jars are fantastic for my craft projects.  This instant coffee jar makeover uses things we all have like tissue paper and hot glue.  The images were printed on my home computer, too!  The key is sealing everything with lacquer when you're done. This will keep them in great shape!  Upcycle, my sweet friends, and always

Fancy Canister DIY - Upcycled Jar Makeover

The rule in my house is give everything gets 2nd life!  Jars, cans, newspaper, cardboard & plastic containers never end up in the garbage UNLESS they truly can't be repurposed.  I have tons of these Nescafe instant coffee jars and they are my absolute favorite to makeover.  A little tissue paper for color and some images printed on your computer will give you an amazing set of mini canisters to show off in your space.   Currently these are on my kitchen counter waiting to be filled, but I have a feeling they'll end up in my craft house.  Rescue those craft supplies headed for the garbage bin and you'll never be bored, my sweet friends!  Oh, and always Make Your Mark!
Love these so much!

Hot glue is malleable so you can easily shape it to the curve or bend of a jar!

Paper Feather Mobile

What I love most about a mobile is that you can truly hang anything from it as long as it's colorful, cute and dances in a slight breeze!  Use an embroidery hoop or some wire for your loop at the top and gather up your most colorful bits!  C'mon, I know you have a box of craft stuff just waiting for this project!  For mine I made paper feathers and colorized them with Unicorn SPiT spray which you can easily make with a bit of water and a small spray bottle. I used it on everything from art journals to happy mail.  I've said it 100 times...Use what you have and always Make Your Mark!
Just magical in the sunlight!

Tin Can Candles

When I was a kid my dad had a metal work table in our garage with this incredible vice grip that could smash almost anything if you could muster the strength to twist the handle hard enough.  Not sure why, but tin cans were my favorite things to smash.  I have had a long relationship with tin cans and to this day I can't stand to throw them away.  They're perfect for soooo many things AND an excellent upcycle item!  Since many of you are pet parents, use LED tea lights in these candles instead of the real thing and they'll be just as gorgeous.  Reuse and repurpose as much as you can, my wonderful friends, and don't forget to Make Your Mark!

French Dresser Makeover with Unicorn SPiT

Most Mondays after the gym I head to the local Goodwill to see what I can find to makeover.  It's a ritual that I love!  So many people have a "thing" about second hand stores, but I don't have a problem with them. I look at it a couple of ways...Every purchase goes to a great cause and I get to encourage my friends to rethink tossing something when they're tired of it.  It's just another way to keep the earth more green.  This little dresser looked so sad, I had to bring it home and give it a new life.  Currently it's residing in my nieces bedroom and she loves it.  Make something over when you're so tired of it you want to donate it, and don't forget to Make Your Mark!
Hot pink and proud!

Pop Art Postcards

How many Amazon boxes do you get per week?  I probably get 3 - 4.  That is a lot of cardboard and truthfully, I feel pretty guilty about it.  To assuage my guilt I try to make as many projects as I can out of cardboard.  Check out my cardboard tile projects!  These postcards are an EASY way to send out some happy mail and use up tons of cardboard.  The kids can join in and learn how the old folks used to communicate before texts and emojis!  Make someone's day by sending them a funky, handmade postcard and don't forget to Make Your Mark!
You ROCK!  I swear, you do!
Americana Neon paints from DecoArt make me super happy!

Mixed Media Tri-fold Postcards inspired by Mark Hearld

I go through creative phases each year. Some months I'm all about making jewelry and other months it's about paper and rubber stamps and still there are times when it's nothing but sewing and fabric projects.  That's what I love about my job.  This week I tackled some happy mail with my seriously-growing stash of rubber stamps and stencils.  I was looking at a book, illustrated by Mark Hearld, and I was totally inspired to make these tri-fold postcards!  You never know when or how inspiration will hit so when it does, sit down and get busy and enjoy the ride.  Make art my friends and don't forget to
