Sugar Skull Decal Dishes

GraphicStock.com recently asked me to create a project using a few of their 350,000 royalty free images and I couldn't resist.  Not only do they have a zillion images, they have tons of beautiful sugar skulls and super cool adult coloring book pages to download, too.  Once I picked my images, I whipped out my ink jet decal paper and immediately went to work.  The awesome thing about ink jet decal paper is that you can print any image you want and apply it to almost anything!  Once they're cured they're dishwasher safe, but to be double sure, I coated them with some Americana Dishwasher Safe Decoupage.  Awesome stuff, BTW!  Remember to turn your favorite images into decals, plaster them on everything and always

Anthropologie Dishes DIY

Lately every thrift store I hit has an entire shelf filled with white porcelain dishes for pennies.  Being the crazy hoarder that I am, I usually grab a box full and haul them home and wait for inspiration to visit.  Well, a few weeks back, after a trip to some hip home goods stores,  inspiration hit and I started making these Fornasetti inspired (dishwasher safe) dishes......and now I'm hooked.  I may just toss out all of my other dishes and use these from now on because they are rocking my world!  Remember to hit the thrift store, look everywhere for inspiration and always Make Your Mark!
Mug-a-licious!

Vintage Floral Glassware DIY

You can always be sure to find tons of glassware at dollar stores and thrift stores.  Thrift stores are the best because you can get it for almost nothing and there's always a terrific selection of interesting pieces.  Recently I saw some very simple floral glassware and decided I wanted to make my own set but I wasn't quite sure how to do it.  Finally I remembered I had some Americana Dishwasher Safe Decoupage and guess what?  It worked like a charm.  Remember to shop at thrift stores, make messes and don't forget to Make Your Mark!

Ready for breakfast!
Watch the video here!
 STUFF YOU'LL NEED
Floral images to print (you can use your home computer for this)
Glassware
Paintbrushes
Scissors
HERE'S HOW
1.  Carefully cut out your images
2.  Mist both sides with water to relax the paper
(this insures that it doesn't bubble when you apply it)
3. & 4.  For the plates, coat the FACE of the cut out with Americana Decoupage
5.  Carefully place face down on the UNDERSIDE of the plate
6. & 7.  With a small brush apply a generous amount of decoupage around the image and then fill in with more decoupage
8.  For the drinking glasses you want to apply the first coat of decoupage to the back of the cutout image (instead on the face of the image like we did for the plates) and then edge and fill
9.  Let cure and then set the table!
These make for a very happy morning
