Big Button Bracelet DIY

I LOVE big buttons - and I cannot lie!  I see bags of them at the thrift store and end up buying them, even though there are no plans for them other than to fill my button jars and to make me happy.  Fact is, I don't care because they really do make me happy.  Today we're covering some larger buttons with some of my favorite images to make this funky charm bracelet.  I'm sure you have a ton of images that float your boat so why not give this a try!  Hey, even photos of your family could be fun!
Now get out there and Make Your Mark!

Birthstone Penny Charm Bracelets

My mom had a necklace with 5 gold little boys dangling on it...Me and my brother's names were engraved on the back of each one.  My gram had a beautiful gemstone ring with 12 birthstones all lined up representing each of her kids. Yup, 12 kids! Birthstone jewelry is a tradition in our family and I've always love it.  Any jewelry that has real meaning makes it even more special, but it can be expensive.  I remember me and my brothers saving forever to get my mom that necklace for Christmas and I'm sure my dad had to kick in most of it.  This penny charm bracelet is a fun way to get the same sentiment, well, for pennies!  It's still meaningful and just as fun to wear.  It's also really fun looking for the exact birthyear penny to go with each stone.  Make mom's day, sweet friends with this
Make Your Mark charm bracelet!
A penny for your thoughts?
Contrary to popular belief, it's not illegal to drill a hole in a penny.
Just charming!

Feather Earrings

Now that we're wearing masks all the time, earrings need to be impactful and BIG!  These feather earrings are perfect for making a statement even if half of your face is covered up.  My sister-in-law loves them and gets compliments on them all the time, so I know this to be true.  Now, you could use denim, a heavy canvas fabric or vinyl like I did to make the shapes.  Whatever you have on hand. Once the paint is on and dry, you won't have a problem fringing the edges.  After all, vinyl is just paint on fabric!  Make exciting accessories, my fashionista friends....and always MAKE YOUR MARK!
Feathered and fabulous!
The chain and turquoise give it some terrific movement!
My vinyl sheets after they're painted...Time to add some gold flecks!

Mini Mirror Pendants

I have a stash of mini craft mirrors and until this project, I didn't quite know what to make with them!  When DecoArt launched their new Glass Paints it finally hit me!  Lately, I'm all about a jewelry project and this one was really fun and surprisingly relaxing.  The Glass Paint Markers made it really easy, too!  If you don't want to wear one of these little gems as a pendant, hang one from your car mirror or make a suncatcher for the backyard!  Whatever you do with these painted mirrors, they really are fun to make!  Now get out there and Make Your Mark!

Newspaper Earrings

I started making paper earrings in college for extra money.  I was seriously into the mixed print Memphis style and I always had colorful painted paper scraps left over from my fashion presentations.  Mind you, this was before computers when you had to cut with scissors, paste with actual glue and use rub-on letters instead of picking a font from hundreds on the internet and printing them out from a home computer!  It's soooo much easier now, but I digress.  This paper mache project is a great way to create something that's sturdy enough for jewelry and light enough to keep your lobes in tact!  Plus, you can paint them any way you want.  Heck, use images, too!  I used my Gel Press for the funky patterns which lent to the unpredictable nature of each earring.  Go nuts with recycled materials, my crafty friends, and always

Colorful Newspaper Earrings - With Gel Press

There are not many printed newspapers out there anymore, but when I get a grocery store flyer or a stack of old local papers, I always grab some for my projects. This is a simple paper mache craft that is light as a feather and also hard as a rock when it's dry!  When you paint it with a Gel Press, you'll get some amazing effects!  Make earrings or a funky necklace and definitely go color crazy since summer is right around the corner!  Say it with me, sweet friends...Use what you have and always Make Your Mark!
These fit perfectly in a regular envelope, so pop a pair in the mail for a friend!
Mix shapes and colors and layer, layer, layer!
I used 5 pieces of newspaper and then topped it off with my painted sheet
