Summery No-Sew Pillows

Need some pillows to liven up your space but don't know how to sew and have no interest in paying through the nose for them?  These no-sew gems are just the ticket and because of the mixed prints, they really pack a punch!  Find a large floral print as bright as the sun and a then look for bold graphics for the base.  Gingham and harlequin patterns work well and don't be afraid to mix colors! Once your pile is done, you'll love how they work together!  Be bold, my crafty friends, and don't forget to MAKE YOUR MARK!

 I put these together with E6000 Fabri-Fuse which is washable and dry cleanable!

No Sew Cactus Pillows

I've been seeing cute cactus pillows all over the web for a year now and it was finally time to try to make a few to give as gifts.  The best part about this project is that it's NO SEW.  Seriously, not one single stitch AND all of the raw edges are neatly covered.  Use this technique with leftover fabrics to make all kinds of pillow shapes. Use a different fabric on each side and really mix them up.   Remember, use pom-pom trim, add ric-rac to everything and always Make Your Mark!

STUFF I USED

E-6000 Fabri-Fuse and Fray Lock

Colorful fabrics

Pillow stuffing

Ric rac trim

Straight pins

Cardboard or foam core

Pom pom trim

 

HERE'S HOW

1.  Pin and cut your cactus pattern on folded fabric so that you have both layers

2. & 3.  Place the pillow on cardboard and glue around the edges, leaving a 5" hole at the base of the cactus, using E-6000 Fabri-Fuse 

4. Using more Fabri-Fuse, glue pom pom trim around the edge of the entire pillow keeping the trim in place with pins around the curves

5. & 6.  Flip the cactus over and cover the raw edges by gluing ric-rac trim around the edges with a thick line of E-6000 Fray Lock and let dry

7.  Stuff the pillow at the base using a chopstick to push the stuffing in all the areas of the pillow

8. & 9.  Use more Fabri-Fuse on the 5" opening and pin the layers together with clothespins until it dries

Pretty Poppy Pillows!

It's been a dull gray winter and I've decided to make some colorful, graphic pillows for my patio furniture. There's something exciting about mixing bold colors with black and white stripes...... It seems to make them POP even more, don't you think? The awesome thing about these pillows is that they're practically NO-SEW since the poppies are appliquéd with E-6000 Stitchless Glue. Just add a little glue along the edges and press into place. It's that easy!

YOU'LL NEED

Iron

Sewing Machine

E-6000 Allure Dimensional Design Adhesive Paint in orange and black gloss

E-6000 Stitchless glue

Scissors

Red, black, orange, and black and white striped cotton fabrics

Pillow stuffing

 Cut out 3 poppies per pillow

*One 8" and two 6" in diameter

Figure out their placement on a 19" x 19" square of striped fabric

Add E-6000 Stitchless glue around the edges of the poppy pieces

Assemble and iron in place until the glue disappears

 Add another 19" x 19" piece of striped fabric on top of the pressed poppies

Pin and stitch around the edges using 1/2" seam allowance

Turn right side out and outline the poppies in orange and black gloss Allure

When dry, stuff the pillows and stitch closed
