Stenciled Lacy Tee DIY.....Dig it!

You know how much I love altering t-shirts! Well, this one was no exception!  This shirt was already stolen, YES STOLEN by my assistant Lena for her dance class.  Lena, you are so in trouble!  Did you enjoy wearing it?  I hope so because now you're on kitchen duty!  I digress.  A great way to alter a t-shirt that fits well but is a little stained.  This also works on other light colored clothing.  Have fun with this technique!  Make sure to leave a comment, I love hearing from you.
Make this lace t-shirt in no time!  Use any colors you want.
I also made these white jeans and scalloped the hem!
Here's the how-to video 
Me looking like a dork with the finished product.  Oh well.
 You'll need scissors, spray paint, Fray Check or Super Glue and a t-shirt and spray adhesive
 Cut the lace to fit over your tee
 Spray it with spray adhesive
 Stick it to your t-shirt
Spray the shirt with spray paint and let dry for 10 minutes
 Amazing!  Remove the lace and it's perfect!
cut along the scalloped edges of the lace 
On the sleeves, too! 
Finish with Fray Check or Super Glue so that it doesn't fray!
You're done!

5 Videos to help you REVAMP your wardrobe!

Need a little wardrobe boost and you're short on cash?  Here are 5 videos (that you can watch right here!) that will help upstyle a few things that you already have in your closet!  Revamp your t-shirts and transform an old blazer into something you're going to love wearing.  Enjoy! Oh, and make sure to share your versions with me. I'd love to see what you're up to.
How to turn a long sleeve tee into a scarf neck cardigan.  All you need is 1 yard of knit and a long sleeve tee and this will be a wardrobe staple.  I wear mine to the movies.
You only need 1/2 yard of knit to make a cowl neck tee and 1 1/2 yards of knit for the dress.  This project takes no time at all.
Have a few polos hanging around that need some sprucing up?  This is great for kids and adults!  Go nutty with the fabric and you'll have something amazing!
This jacket restyle will make you look like you just stepped off the Milan runway!  All you need is some hot glue and gold trim and a thrift store blazer.  Hot glue works like an iron on patch when used with fabric so go to town.
There are tons of possibilities for this jacket....Use leather or different colors. Either way, Military Style is in this fall and you're going to look smashing!

BLACK WIDOW COSTUME DIY!

Just in case you love The Avengers as much as I do, we assembled and DIY'd everything you need to make this amazing Black Widow costume for Halloween this year.  I've included links below to find EVERYTHING  you need.  Have fun!  xoxo, Mark

Here's what you need and WHERE you can get it for this amazing costume:
Find these at most Army Navy stores 
These you can get at any toy store 
 On the video there is a link to where you can buy fake bullet strips
 These are almost everywhere or you could cut off the fingers of old black leather gloves
Order these on Etsy or make your own from felt! 
Get this at any sewing store 
Craft foam for the belt buckle can by purchases at any craft store 
 For the guns and fake bullets!
 To put it all together
 This is what the belt looks like when it's done.  Made with elastic, craft foam and hot glue
 Spray your fake bullets for  Black Widow's wrist cuffs
 Glue the patches on your body suit

Vintage Chanel Inspired Cuffs DIY

Years and years ago I attended the party of a fabulous woman who lived in a glass high rise in the heart of NYC.  She was an avid collector of Chanel clothing and jewelry.  During the party she took me aside and in to her wardrobe room and showed me what looked easily like 10 million dollars worth of Chanel.  Everything from vintage to her collection of couture.  I was blown away and will never forget it!  Drawers of Chanel jewelry.  Racks and racks of Chanel clothing.  Shelves full of handbags and shoes. This is a project inspired by that very night.  


Here's the how-to video
 You'll need:
Metal cuffs
Pearl trim
Rhinestone trim
Wire cutters
E-6000 glue
Large crystals
White Krylon Spray paint
Glue your rhinestone to the center of the cuff 
Surround it with pearl trim 
Glue lengths of the rhinestone trim along the side of the pearls 
 Continue for about 3 rows and then let the glue set for 20 minutes.
Continue around the rest of the cuff and let dry for 1 hour.
 Spray paint your cuff off white 
Cut pearl trim and rhinestone trim the width of the cuff 
 Starting in the center, glue the trim from edge to edge with small rows of E-6000 glue
Continue all the way around the cuffs and let dry for at least an hour.

Dolce and Gabbana inspired thrift store blazer

I love the Fall 2012 Dolce & Gabbana collection. I decided to use it as inspiration for a thrift store blazer just to see if I could come up with something that every day fashionistas could afford.  Here's what we came up with.  Hope you like it!

This is what I made! 
Here's the how to video 
You'll need:
Hot glue and glue sticks
Gold lace and gold beaded trims
Straight pins 
Thrift store blazer

 Pick your trims and figure out where you want them.  Stick with the princess line on the jacket so that it's more slimming.  Cut them to size and experiment with the placement.
 Using straight pins, place your trim in place and see how it looks.
Don't forget to add some trim around the lapel! 
Using small dabs of hot glue (ON THE TRIM) stick the trim to the blazer.
     

Cut small holes in the lace to allow for the buttons on the sleeve and then glue the trim to the end of the sleeves!
