There is something wonderful about looking at people's collections. You can tell so much about them. Personally, I have never been able to understand minimalism. There are just too many beautiful things in the world.
My favorite part of this mantle is the skull placed on top of the green statue. One of my favorite things to do is switch the heads on things just to see what they will look like. I am constantly cutting off the heads of my finds.
I made this Eagle Lady sculpture for my book, The Big Ass Book of Home Decor.
All you need is a Dremel, some glue, joint compound and a couple of sculptures and you're good to go. Just don't let the kids see you doing this!
I'd love to hear from you!
I agree,I don't care for minimalism either (only from a dusting standpoint ;)) It seems cold to me. I enjoy looking at peoples collections, they bring warmth into the room and make me smile.
ReplyDeleteHmmm cutting heads off...seems like therapy to me! I like it! LOL

OH wow, poor lady. That's what I need at my house, less minimalism! All my walls are white...ALL OF THEM!
